About the artist

Megan Lee (she/her) is a self-taught artist, based in Asheville, NC, who has explored a wide range of mediums, including acrylic painting, jewelry making, mixed media collage, and photography. However, it was digital illustration that ultimately captured her attention, allowing her to blend her passion for learning with her artistic talents.

Since beginning her first series of digital artwork titled "Rock Star Scientists" in 2010, Megan has been focused on creating captivating illustrations with a design aesthetic inspired by a diverse range of artists, including Andy Warhol, Ryan McGuiness, Kara Walker, and Yayoi Kusama. Megan's work draws on bold, graphic styles and a playful use of color to create eye-catching designs that are both memorable and educational. 

With a vision to make stylish art that sparks curiosity and makes learning fun, Megan creates art that celebrates the beauty and diversity of the world around us, inviting curious learners to explore new ideas and spark conversations.
