This botany art print is a beautiful homage to Carl Linnaeus, the father of modern taxonomy. He is most known for devising the formal two-part naming system called 'binomial nomenclature' that we use it to classify all lifeforms. The first part of the name identifies the genus to which the species belongs and the second part identifies the species within the genus. The minimalist illustration of a taxonomy tree is a visual representation of his classification system and its impact on modern science. Set against a striking red background with an aged finish, this print exudes a vintage steampunk style that is sure to complement any decor.

  • Printed on high quality professional paper with a semi-gloss finish
  • Wide range of sizes from 5x7 up to 30x45
  • Print only - does not come frame

This zoology art print serves as delightful classroom decor or an eye-catching addition to any living space. It also makes a great present for a science teacher, or for anyone who appreciates the beauty of nature and the scientific method.

About the scientist:

Carl Linnaeus (1707-1778) was a Swedish botanist, zoologist, and physician who is considered one of the fathers of modern taxonomy. He created the Linnaean system of classification, which is still used today in biology to name and organize living organisms. Linnaeus's work was instrumental in establishing a standard for the scientific naming of plants and animals and in the development of the field of systematic biology. He also made significant contributions to the study of botany and is credited with discovering and naming hundreds of plant species. Additionally, Linnaeus wrote several books on botany and zoology, including "Systema Naturae," which is regarded as one of the most influential scientific works in history.
